THE ART IN APARTMENT

APARTMENT, AMSTERDAM

Our client wanted us to transform a typical 19th century Amsterdam apartment into a comfortable home from home, capable of carrying both fine art and a stone fireplace mantelpiece.

We started out by completely changing the layout of the apartment. We reinforced the basic construction with steel, put in a concrete floor and shifted the typical Amsterdam narrow stairwell to the center of the apartment. The basis for further beautification had been created. We put in a beautiful stone fireplace with a natural stone chimney, reaching all the way up to the roof terrace connecting the floors alongside the staircase. A solid, stone bathtub was also installed. Now you see why we fortified the apartment? We moved in some gorgeous Spanish furniture and finished the job meticulously. This apartment has become a home from home for our client and their art in the heart of Amsterdam’s Museum District. Could it be anything be more appropriate?
