The lobby was completely stripped down, except for the existing natural stone floor which was in good condition. Some of the existing dry walls were removed to create more space and overview. A mirrored wall was placed over the complete height of the staircase, creating several viewing lines towards the lower floors.The ceiling was replaced with a sprayed -acoustic- ceiling. Based on the new ITOSOM corporate identity and the existing natural stone floor, we introduced warm colors and materials: natural oak, white corian and shades of dark brown. The facade logo was replaced with a huge SOM logo, which also can be used for sitting and numerous new light sculptures were hung in the atrium as the finishing touch. In line with the new ITOSOM, hospitality concept, a new counter with sitting area was created for the users and visitors of the building including a couple of lounge chairs.

For the renovation of the SOM lobby, the client asked us for modernization of the lobby, an integrated acces control and a solution for the acoustic problems in the lobby.
